MIRACLES DO HAPPEN

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog, if you are visiting this site for the first time, then I am ringing my bell of blessing for you. I hope you can hear its sonorous sound. It’s been a while since I have been here but I promise to continue actively on our journey to attain happiness and fufilment by dropping articles more often.
Recently, I have been reading books, motivational, inspirational, books on investments, saving, all types and I have noticed something similar in all of them. The successful people used as references all had and some, who are still alive, have an intriguing level of faith and optimism. They never took “NO” for an answer. Impossibility and Negativity were alien to them. Some of them even went all the way to manually remove such words from their dictionaries, how surprising!
There is always a miracle ready to happen in our lives. It only depends on our ability to visualize our success with our strength embedded deep within us and fuel our faith and optimism accordingly. Napoleon Hill says in his book, Think and Grow Rich, that “Faith is the emotional elixir that gives live, power and action to the impulse of thought”. Faith helps you connect with infinite intelligence to bring about that which one dearly desires. What are we then waiting for? Let’s set our faith to work, fueled with desire and hard work, and we will be amazed at how finely cooked our miracles will come out.

LIFE IS OURS TO DEFINE

Up this morning, after a heart-to-heart talk with God my Father, I suddenly remembered my days back in the university. Almost every semester, I witnessed a candle light procession for a dead student and saw obituaries of university staff, some of whom I had known. There is this usual expression of loss and sympathy for family members of the deceased and a little prayer said for their souls, but one thing remains, life still goes on. Sometimes I get baffled but I also cannot help it because I also do not stop working or living, I do not put my activities on hold, if I have lectures to attend, I still go and so does every other person standing beside me looking at the obituary. Life presents to us many events, joyful or disappointing, fulfilling or heart wrenching but our resolve to live through these challenging moments and come out refined and stronger makes the difference between losers and winners, rich and poor, strong and weak, happy and sad. No event that occurs in our lives is worth bringing to a halt the joy of living. The past is not ours to change but the future is ours to define.
It is never too late, we have every opportunity to forgive ourselves and those who have hurt us, leave the baggage of the past behind and LIVE AGAIN.

PROPER CHILD UPBRINGING - A CONSCIOUS EFFORT

Some days ago, some teenagers came to my mum for treatment, one of them had an injury. From his body build-up, he could pass for a seventeen-year old, he talked like he just woke. He needed to take Tetanus Toxoid injection, he was asked to eat some biscuit as he couldn't take the injection on an empty stomach. He stared into empty space as he chewed the biscuits, he was totally oblivious of his environment, let me not forget to say that he didn't express any form of appreciation when he was offered the biscuits. It was his younger cousin that thanked my mum on his behalf. She openly scolded him for not showing gratitude, yet he didn't bate an eyelid. If not that I was present when he told my mum what led to the injury, I would have thought he was a deaf mute.
I will not take the whole time analysing the abnormality and inappropriateness of the behaviour of this teenager instead I will like to point out that bringing up a child properly is a conscious effort. Some persons think that it comes naturally, NO, it doesn't. Worse still, most parents end up bringing up their house helps or other children living under their roof and forget to train their own kids. They only remember to reprimand other people's children and spare their children the "discomfort" of correction. I have seen the havoc that children who lack proper home training reign and I must tell you the effect and impact of their disgraceful acts have ripple effects. They become a tragedy, a source of regret and depression to their family members. Even the Good Book lays great emphasis on proper upbringing of children. You have to consciously map out instructions that will help you out in this great task. Each child is unique and so, it is wise to study each child to know the best way to bring up that child to be responsible.
The family is the starting point of any community of people, no organisation, group, ministry or government will function well in its responsibilities if our children are not well brought up.
