Up this morning, after a heart-to-heart talk with God my
Father, I suddenly remembered my days back in the university. Almost every
semester, I witnessed a candle light procession for a dead student and saw
obituaries of university staff, some of whom I had known. There is this usual
expression of loss and sympathy for family members of the deceased and a little
prayer said for their souls, but one thing remains, life still goes on.
Sometimes I get baffled but I also cannot help it because I also do not stop
working or living, I do not put my activities on hold, if I have lectures to
attend, I still go and so does every other person standing beside me looking at
the obituary. Life presents to us many events, joyful or disappointing, fulfilling
or heart wrenching but our resolve to live through these challenging moments
and come out refined and stronger makes the difference between losers and
winners, rich and poor, strong and weak, happy and sad. No event that occurs in
our lives is worth bringing to a halt the joy of living. The past is not ours
to change but the future is ours to define.
It is never too late, we have every opportunity to
forgive ourselves and those who have hurt us, leave the baggage of the past
behind and LIVE AGAIN.
Live again...
