LOW MOMENTS

You really can never say how an experience feels just by hearing stories about it. It's either it has happened to you personally or you have seen some other person undergoing such experience. Most times when we are privileged to go through some challenging situations, it can't be compared with how they seemed when they were just a tale, everything about our being is involved and equally affected. But really, these challenging experiences have a way of bringing us out of our comfort zone and making us stronger, more loving and wiser as we see life in a more revealing light.
Have you heard success stories being told by two different persons? where one had some low moments along the way but survived and then the other person who has had it all going for him/her from the very beginning? which of the stories interests and inspires you more?
You might be going through a low moment in your life now, all efforts have seemed abortive and frustrated, calm down, be thankful for the opportunity, LEARN from it. It is a phase and it will surely pass. You would be surprised how finely remodeled you would be, your confidence and courage increases, you are much more "aggressive" towards challenges. Low moments are inevitable for great people. During these moments, our faculty works at its highest frequency, we just have to think of a way out during these periods and we always do!
You never would have known that a boss could be so humble and approachable if you didn't loose that stressful job that keeps you busy all through the week, weekends inclusive. You never would have known that "all men are not dogs" if your present guy did not jilt you for another babe thereby making you available for this other wonderful guy to ask out. You probably couldn't have had the privilege of meeting a woman with beauty and brains if your "miss world" girlfriend who only knows how to tax you for new weaves every week did not abandon you, making it possible to meet this unique lady.
Most times, the very things that bring ultimate beauty to our lives do not always come in very beautiful packages. they are hidden in seemingly unpleasant events so that when we have them, we would appreciate them better.

WHEN THE WORD IS X AND THE ACTION Y

As a typical naija babe, proudly "repping" my country, I love nollywood movies.Though when I see a boring scene, I verbally show my discontent and some persons especially my friends have asked me in total wonder why I am still in love with nollywood productions and I tell them "otiko no fine but him mama like am, we are getting there". But really, nollywood has a way of depicting in its entirety what could be amazingly and also annoyingly obtainable in the African setting. I love nollywood! OK..Let's talk about our variables X and Y. I remember seeing a movie sometime ago, a perfectly looking couple, in love, you could tell by looking at them. Then I became shocked, he hit her, she wept, after a while he came around and apologised "I'm sorry, I love you. Love? how?
This occured virtually everyday and then came the great shocker, he told her he needed counselling. Disregarding pleas from her friends to leave the relationship, she said amidst tears and a swollen face "He needs help, I need to help him, he has to go for counselling" and I'm like"hia! does this still happen?" Yes, it does, even worse scenarios abound and the person undergoing such might be closer to you than you think.
Love is practical, it is not selfish, you cannot claim to love someone and still hurt him or her, neither your temperament nor your personality type is an excuse. I will always love the song "more than words" by Westlife. If you are not so familiar or have forgotten the lyrics, please go through it again. What else would you have to show if the words "I love you" were taken away from you? How else would you prove your love to him or her? Love is a combination of different attributes and virtues. 1Cor. 13:4 tells us extensively about love. Are you confused about this love thing? read that part of the Great Book, it is VERY CLEAR. Love NEVER hurts.

THE OVERLY RIGHTEOUS CONSCIENCE

Have you ever had the feeling of giving more to someone than he/she deserves? if you have, that's fine, kudos, God bless your kind heart. Do you always get far less than you deserve?, and then you tell yourself "oh, that's fine, let me keep mute about it", never expressing yourself?, then my dear friend, I've got some news for you. You have not only given people the privilege to disrespect you, you have also offended yourself. You have misplaced your self-love, you have starved yourself of the love you deserve and, if you'll sincerely agree with me, you do not feel good about it.
Sometimes we feel it will be wrong to politely tell people we will not be able to grant that which they desire, we feel the world will see us as selfish, wicked, bad and so we grant their requests, they get satisfied, we get confused, our schedules are disrupted and then we get angry with ourselves. At the end of it all, they are happy, we are not. Why then do we do this when we know what sad experience we would feel afterwards?, often our answer is; we would feel guilty then come out as wicked people to the world, inhumane and hardhearted.
An overly righteous conscience cages our freewill and breeds inferiority complex which is a strong dream killer. I am not an advocate of
selfishness but I strongly believe that everyone deserves to love him/herself, then from that well of self-love, love for neighbour springs up and is original not faked,it is given freely without regret or grudge.
